For starters, probably everyone in the world LOVES this James Blunt song and wants to hear it again and again, just like me. Can I say that its saccharine appeal still sings to me and that I turn up the original whenever it shows up on pop radio? Whoops. Is that the sound of my dear friend Billy swearing to look at my blog like never ever again? Ah, nostalgiapoprock, it is its own mainstream subgenre. Give me my 99 Red Balloons ! Man, when this video of James Blunt singing "My Triangle" got played for me by my nephew back east on the YouTube I laughed till I almost cried. Can I be a kid again? eternal? love it all above.

Over the past weekend I was showing my nephew how to mobile blog from my cell phone and here were the posts. Happy Pesach everyone! Zimmer's Founder and CEO of Men's Wearhouse -- famous for coining the phrase "If you don't look good, we don't look good." It's my favorite clothes store. And Amnon 's a Piedmont, CA native and a member of the MAGNES Board. I jus' love Amnon the "master of the rolodex" . Doing everything I can to keep him engaged at MAGNES! And I'd love to see George involved.

Launching the new Lorry I. Lokey Business School at MILLS College...a truly great event that felt historic. Lokey spoke as did Mills President Janet Holmgren -- both EXTREMELY well done...notes from Lokey below . Ellen Goodman gave the main speech. Simply put, it was about the entire late-twentieth-century Women's Movement as it relates to work. The speech and the delviery were both grounded, funny, profound and timely...and to be so surrounded by every variety, flavor, pre-Feminist, post-Feminist, pure-Feminist, cyber-cousine, female change agent, each surrogate and as-yet-unimagined prototype possible...it is a new age. My boy E's had this totally cute little car toy for a while. And it just hit me that it's totally this shrunk-down, chubby, hard-rocking 70's van... So, of course, I had to mobile blog about it.

Good stuff around MAGNES...I got in a nice news article in The New York Times and the Museum got named one of the Top Ten Jewish Museums in the new magazine Jewish Living. I pitched both pieces, so I'm doubly proud.

Saw TRAGEDY: a tragedy this evening and according to the BerkeleyRep web site: “Will Eno is a Samuel Beckett for the Jon Stewart generation,” proclaims the New York Times,..." The production was pretty good, but there were annoying parts when purposefully disturbing feedback was supposed to come into play. And the houselights came on to create an uncomfortable fissure in the fourth wall...well it was more uninteresting to see so much of the audience than it was vertiginous or existentially nauseating...overall though there were passages of writing that were sweet beyond the confines of the play.

Best way to wrap the week - with a slow Friday morning. Mom's at the dentist then a site visit for school, so me an' the E hung out 'til noonish when Mom got home. Then I headed into the office. Busy weekend ahead: more school, banquet dinner and Friends & Family Day at MAGNES.
